We are a well-established archery club with a history that dates back to 1939. We are affiliated to all the major GB Archery Organisations
We shoot at the De La Salle Association grounds, in the south-west of Sheffield. (Directions and map).
The grounds are in very pleasant, quiet surroundings and we have access, in the summer, to shoot four days a week.(In winter for two days).
We have use of all the De La Salle facilities, such as a bar, toilets, a kitchen and meeting rooms (subject to availability).
During the Winter months we can shoot indoors at the TA in Fulwood. We do this on Wednesday evenings.
We hold several competitions a year, with three of these being Open Shoots and the rest Club Shoots. The open shoots are the Longbow Tournament, the Potato Shoot and the Rose Award Shoot. The Club Shoots include the Club Championships, the Wicker Arrow (aimed at beginners), and, occasionally, 'fun' shoots such as Field and Clout shoots . (See "Types of Archery").
We welcome new members and hold a number of Beginners' Courses during the year, but places for these fill up quickly. We may be able to accommodate you if you cannot attend one of the beginners' courses, just contact us and we will be happy to discuss options with you.
We shoot: Longbows, Recurve and Compound Bows (see Types of Bow for more details).
Mostly we shoot at Targets ("Bulls' eyes") - Queen Victoria's favourite sport .
Health and Safety is paramount. Please read the GNAS Handbook (in the Members' section).

We are about to have a new website!

This will be run by a different webmaster and hosted on a different server.

The url will be: abbeydalearchers.com

This website will close later on in the year although I may write some pages specifically for Long-bowers.

IA new de La Salle membership form is here. Please print off and post it to T. Green or give it to Terry W. Further details plus a link to an Excel version is here.

You are reminded that it is required of all members to join the De La Salle Association as we use their grounds and facilities.
